Description: the proposed scheme creates a new 800m long path broadly following the north-east bank of the Hermitage Stream between Park House Farm Way in the south and Fitzwygram Way in the north. The route mostly follows the existing public footpath across the Ramsdale Avenue open space and into Bushy Lease woods, before crossing the Hermitage Stream on a new bridge to connect to the footway in Fitzwygram Way. The route therefore extends the existing active travel route which starts in Havant town centre and runs through Leigh Park, with the goal in future phases of reaching Waterlooville town centre and creating a direct active travel link between the two town centres. The new path will initially be surfaced using a countryside stone surface, but would be ready for asphalt surfacing in future once the full route between Havant and Waterlooville is built, at which point cyclists and wheelers would also be able to use it and avoid busy roads such as Hulbert Road.
