Tackling tough times together

The cost of living crisis is real for many of our borough’s residents. Too many people are struggling to make ends meet, with some facing extreme hardship.

Steep rises in energy prices are outstripping wage and benefit increases and putting enormous pressure on daily life. Some are facing an unacceptable choice between heating and eating.

The council’s role is clear – we will use every lever available to us to support residents through this crisis, and we will work with our partners in the city to do the same.

If you’re struggling to manage we offer a range of advice and support so you can find the help you need.

The Cost of Living section on our website includes helpful information on:

  • Cost of living payments and other support from central government
  • The Household Support Fund available through our Community Hub
  • Citizens Advice debt and money advice service
  • Borough council contacts if you are struggling to pay your council tax
  • Age UK’s free money advice, including maximising your benefits.
  • Warm Hubs

Havant Borough Council's Cabinet lead for Finance, Councillor Tony Denton, said: “We know that these are terribly difficult times for a lot of people across the borough.  The cost of living crisis is having a devastating impact on communities and we are using the limited funding available to us to help support people in most need and will do everything we can to continue to support our residents.”
