Reminder to Ukrainian families and UK hosts

Tomorrow (Tuesday 23 May) sees the return of our popular drop-in session at the Public Service Plaza, Havant.

Havant Borough Council will be hosting a family drop-in session for Ukrainian refugees and hosts living in the Borough of Havant.

Attending the sessions will be representatives from Community and Housing team, Health service, Rural Refugee Network, Community First, MIND, Health service, Hampshire Police to offer face to face advice and support.

Taking place between 11am and 2pm, there is no need to book, just turn up.  Refreshments will be on offer.

Councillor Gwen Robinson, Deputy Leader and Cabinet lead for Communities and Housing, said "From the feedback we have received following previous sessions we have held, we know that people are keen to meet fellow Ukrainians.  They also need assistance as they begin to settle in to living in the borough, including help with speaking English and getting ready to work.

"We have developed these drop-in sessions to provide a place for people to meet and also as a way to support them to reach other services. We are keen to hear from local organisations that are supporting refugees so that we can signpost people to their services."
