Ready, steady ‘Get up and Go’

Get up and Go is designed to create, organise, and facilitate friendly, fun activities aimed at Havant residents in the borough who have mild to moderate health conditions.

Funding received from Hampshire County Council enables Havant Borough Council to offer activities at a reduced cost to the average price you would normally pay.  It also means that classes can be kept small, enabling you to get the most out of the activity.

Activity can bring a multitude of physical, mental and social benefits to us all, and Get up and Go works to provide a range of fun activities which utilise and help the residents of Havant Borough to make it as enjoyable and easy as possible.

New activities for 2023 have been added to the Get up and Go programme and include:

  • Gentle Yoga at Waterlooville Community Centre, Mondays at 11:15. Those taking part can remain seated in the class if required. The first session is free and mats are available.
  • Walking Netball at Havant Leisure Centre, Tuesdays at 11am. The first session saw five people attend with three of them having not played Netball for 60 years! First session is free. This is in conjunction with England Netball and Horizon Leisure Trust.
  • An introduction to Walking Football course starts on Monday 27 February, 3:00 pm at Front Lawn Community Hub, Havant. It is run by Hayling and Emsworth walking football club who already run a successful sociable Walking Football club.
  • Heritage walks at Staunton Country Park will be starting up again in March. Taking place on the first and third Tuesday of the month and led by volunteers.

There is also a lot of great activities on in the borough already. If there’s something you would like to try but need assistance finding it near you please contact info@getupandgohavant.com
