Havant Borough Council welcomes Ukrainian families to a free drop-in session

A Christmas family drop-in session for Ukrainian refugees and hosts living in the Borough of Havant will be taking place next week to offer further support.

Following on from the positive feedback we received from the first drop-in session, held in October, we are inviting Ukrainian families and UK hosts back to the Plaza on Tuesday 6 December.

During the session, being held between 11am and 2pm the council, together with its partners will be offering face to face advice and support from the Community and Housing team, Job Centre, Health service and Citizens' Advice.

Also available will be assistance from the Housing Benefits team, Community First, Rural Refugee Network and Havant and East Hants MIND.

There is no need to book, just turn up on the day for the free drop-in session at the Public Service Plaza, Civic Centre Road, Havant.  Food and refreshments will also be available.

Councillor Gwen Robinson, Cabinet Lead for Affordable Housing, Communities and CIL, said: “Our previous event was such as success, giving families and hosts the opportunity to meet up to share their experiences. Following the feedback we received previously we are now able to offer more help and advice from the services they require the most.”

"I would encourage those who couldn't attend last time to come and visit to see us to see what help is available."
