Works are set to begin at Hampshire Farm Meadows to replace three ageing timber footbridges.
The £78,000 project, funded through the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106 developer contributions, will replace the bridges that have reached the end of their life.
Works are set to begin on 21 September and will take approximately four weeks to complete. To help minimise disruption, only one bridge will be closed at any one time, ensuring that two bridges remain open throughout the project. As a result, no diversion routes will be required and access across Hampshire Farm Meadows will be maintained during the works.
The bridges provide important links throughout the wider open space, helping residents and visitors enjoy the natural environment and recreational opportunities available around the meadows.
The existing bridges were originally installed around nine years ago as part of the neighbouring development, before Havant Borough Council adopted the site in 2017.
Councillor Netty Shepherd, Cabinet Lead for Public Realm, said: "Replacing these bridges now will ensure that residents and visitors can continue to enjoy safe and reliable access across the open space for years to come.
"We have planned the works carefully to minimise inconvenience, with two bridges remaining open at all times and no diversion routes required."
