A warm welcome awaits Ukrainian families and their hosts

Havant Borough Council will once again be hosting an informal get-together for Ukrainian guest families and their hosts.

Taking place on Monday 20 March at the Public Service Plaza, Civic Centre Road, PO9 2AX, the free drop in event brings together council services and partner services across health, employment, finance, education, housing and more, to make sure Ukrainian guests have the information they need to help them whilst living in the borough.

During the session being held between 11am and 2pm, volunteer translators will be on hand, and those attending will also be signposted to services that can help with learning English.

Previously well attended, these sessions also offer a chance for Ukrainian families and their hosts to network with other families and hosts.

Councillor Gwen Robinson, Cabinet Lead for Affordable Housing, Communities and CIL, said: “Our previous events have been such a success, giving families and hosts the opportunity to meet up to share their experiences.

“Following all the feedback we received from the previous sessions, we are able to build on what services and information we provide.

"I would encourage those who haven’t been able to attend in the past to come and visit to see what help is available."

There is no need to book, just turn up on the day. Food and refreshments will also be available.
