Thousands of forms are being hand delivered across the borough to ensure the electoral register is up to date.
Havant Borough Council will be sending around 56,500 forms to homes and residents are being urged to respond.
Every year the Council must check its electoral register is up to date, and all households are contacted asking people to confirm the details or inform the Council of any changes.
With local elections taking place across the borough in May 2023, this is an important opportunity for residents to make sure they can take part.
Havant Borough Councils Returning Officer, Brian Wood, said; "It’s important that residents keep an eye out for these letters from Havant Borough Council, so we can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every address in our area. To make sure you are able to have your say in any upcoming elections, simply follow the instructions from the correspondence we send you."

People who have moved recently are particularly encouraged to look out for the voter registration letter and to check the details. Research by the Electoral Commission indicates that recent home movers are far less likely to be registered than those who have lived at the same address for a long time. Across Great Britain, 92% of people who have been at their property for more than sixteen years will be registered, compared to 36% of people who have lived at an address for less than one year.
