Food banks are open across the borough for those who need them. Please find a list below of both food banks and other forms of community food support, where they operate and details of how to contact them.

Havant Central

The Beacon food bank continues to serve those in genuine need of food support.  

Open from Monday to Friday between 10am and 12.30pm. After this time, call 07718 424618 and leave a message.

Havant and local area

Munch Community Food Pantry, Park Community School, Middle Park Way, Havant PO9 4BU

No referral necessary. Munch runs from Park Community School and food can be collected directly from the school.

Munch Community Food Pantry is open Monday to Friday between 11am to 2.30pm.

It costs £5 to use it and on average you will receive £15 worth of food. Munch meals is open for anyone to come to on Tuesday and Thursdays between 4pm to 5.30pm, and you will receive a two-course hot meal and drink. There are also fortnightly Sunday lunches between 1pm to 2pm on 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month.

They will be open on Christmas Day for anyone to come and have Christmas Lunch. If you are interested, please email munch@pcs.hants.sch.uk or ring 02392489811 to book.

Leigh Park

Hayling Island

Community Centre Pantry, Station Rd, Hayling Island PO11 0HB

This pantry is committed to assisting families  and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet. They aim to both assist in providing food and also minimise food waste. The Pantry is a membership food club helping you to save money on your bills, which will help budgets go further with our rising household bills. Membership is limited to those who meet the eligibility criteria. If you are struggling to feed your family or yourself and live on Hayling Island they can help. 

All you have to do is fill out a registration form, wait to be approved, meet the friendly team and grab your weekly shop for just £6.

Waterlooville & Wecock  

Located in Wecock Church, Kite Close, PO8 9UX and are open Mondays 09.30-11.30am and Friday 12noon-2pm where collections and donations can be made.

FREE food hampers for those who are genuinely in need. You will need to be referred by someone who works with a recognised organisation such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, Children services, Schools, Job centre, Housing association, Two Saints. Mind, Social Worker, Church Minister

The Acorn Centre works with the food bank and provides food for children during the holidays so long as funds are available.

New Life Foundation Food bank - Chichester through to Bedhampton

Individuals can self-refer. Referrals can also be made by health visitors, schools, councils, housing and other individuals who are concerned about a friend or neighbour.
