Sport & Physical Activity Alliance (SPAA)

Havant’s Sport & Physical Activity Alliance (SPAA) was established in 2006. The Havant SPAA has been created to provide local, strategic alliances of partners with an interest in sport and/or physical activity.

Members of Havant’s SPAA are made up of organisations within Havant who have a direct interest in the physical outcomes of sport, as well as partners who are concerned with the wider benefits and outcomes that sport has to offer.

The SPAA group meets quarterly, January, April, July and October. Meetings provide a good opportunity for organisations to work closely with other SPAA partners, providing time to share project ideas and good work practices.

Each meeting is based around an appropriate theme. For 2017 they are as follows:

  • January: Funding/Strategy
  • April: Social Inclusion
  • July: Facility Development
  • Oct: TBC

Havant SPAA is made up of key local organisations with an interest in sport and physical activity. Members currently include;

  • Havant Borough Council
  • Energise Me
  • Havant Borough Sports Association
  • Active Communities Network (ACN)
  • Horizon Leisure
  • Innovations Fitness
  • Park Community School
  • Havant Academy
  • Havant College
  • County Sport Association/Bodies and many more.

It is free to become a SPAA member. If you think that your organisation can add to the group, or if you would like to know more, please email matthew.tyler@havant.gov.uk.
