Total cost of project (including design, surveys, reports etc): £20k - £50k (range).

Community Infrastructure Levy and other funding awarded: £39k.

  • Main works start 2 November 2026.
  • Main works complete 18 November 2026.
  • Tree planting 23 November 2026.

Description: the proposed scheme improves surface water drainage within the car park and is the third phase of a comprehensive scheme to overcome historic flooding problems at this location. This final phase of the project provides:

  • Installation of sustainable drainage system in the west section of the car park between the toilet block and the Basing Road entrance;
  • Relining of this area of the car park;
  • Planting five trees to increase the efficiency of the drainage solution and to provide improved biodiversity in the car park.
  • Remedial work to trench at east end of car park (rear of Farm Foods area).
