Residents are being invited to parades and memorial services in the borough to mark Remembrance Sunday on 13 November.
The events in Havant, Hayling and Emsworth will commemorate the sacrifices of those who lost their lives in the two World Wars and more recent world conflicts.
The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Diana Patrick, said: “Remembrance Sunday honours those who have made and continue to make the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
“I’d like to invite all residents to join us at the services and wreath laying around the borough, to welcome the Royal British Legion, our soldiers, young and old who will be remembering those who have lost their lives on this important Day of Remembrance.”
Three Remembrance Sunday parades and services will be held in the borough:
Havant, St Faiths War Memorial – Deputy Lieutenant Major General James Balfour CBE DL will be in attendance, along with the Mayor of Havant, Alan Mak MP and the Leader of Havant Borough Council, Councillor Alex Rennie
10:40 am - Parade leaves Royal British Legion Ex-servicemen’s club, Brockhampton Lane, into Park Road South along Elm Lane before turning into North Street. Denton Smith, bagpiper accompanied by drums courtesy of Hampshire Caledonian Pipe Band.
10:50 am - Parade assembles at War memorial outside St Faiths Church.
10:52 am - Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial outside St Faiths Church, Havant
11 am - Two-Minute Silence.
11.02 am – Remembrance Service inside St Faiths Church, Havant.
Hayling Island – Deputy Mayor, Councillor Rosy Raines in attendance
10:40 am - Parade leaves Hollow Lane, marching along Elm Grove to the Cenotaph in St Mary’s Road for the laying of wreaths, before moving to St Mary’s Church for the Remembrance Service.
Emsworth - Deputy Mayor, Councillor Rosy Raines in attendance
2:30pm - Parade leaves Queen Street heading to Church Path, Emsworth
3pm - Remembrance service inside St James Church, Church Path, Emsworth, PO10 7DP
