Lucky lottery winner bags a year’s supply of fresh fruit and veg

One lucky Bedhampton resident has won a year’s supply of fruit and veg thanks to the Havant Community Lottery.

The winner, identifying only as Mrs B, can look forward to receiving free, healthy food to her door courtesy of Boxxfresh.

Havant Community Lottery has been set up by Havant Borough Council to help residents support local charities and good causes.

Each £1 ticket provides vital funding for the charity of your choice and gives you a chance of winning some great prizes, including a top cash prize of £25,000.

Mrs B’s chosen charity is Bedhampton Bowling Club.

She said: “Our chosen venture is Bedhampton Bowling Club. We have been members there for many years and we enjoy spending time with such a friendly group of people and taking part in the bowling and social activities at the club.”

Alan Kendrick, Acting President of Bedhampton Bowling Club, said: “As members of Disability Bowls England we are actively trying to improve the clubhouse and surroundings and need more supporters to help our cause, so if you do the Havant Lottery and want to support a local club, why not choose ours?

“We are currently raising money for club funds and projects and recently were awarded a grant from Havant Lottery, to install a commercial dishwasher in our kitchen.”

Cllr Gwen Robinson, Havant Borough Council’s Cabinet Lead for Housing Communities and CIL, said: “The Havant Community Lottery has been a huge success, raising thousands of pounds for local community groups and projects.

“It’s very easy to take part and it's a great way to support local good causes like the Bedhampton Bowling Club or any other participating charity.”
