A cash boost from the Havant Lottery for local projects!

Local good causes have been awarded £5,550 through Havant Borough Council’s Community Lottery.

Funds are raised through the sale of tickets for the council’s weekly online lottery draw.

The money will help groups fund community projects and activities that support local residents across the borough.

This funding is available twice a year to good causes that have registered with the Havant Community Lottery.

Community groups and charities are invited to make an application for funding, which are then reviewed by a panel of community representatives to determine which projects are funded.

Funds are raised through ticket sales. Tickets cost £1 each, with 60p from every sale going to the community.

The successful groups include:

  • Creatful CIC - £1,500 (Havant Wellbeing retreat project)
  • Leigh Park Christmas Grotto - £1,000 (Grotto materials and gifts)
  • Emsworth Community Centre - £1,500 (garden equipment)
  • Home-Start Hampshire (Havant Service) - £1,500 (cookery project equipment)

Cllr Gwen Robinson, Havant Borough Council’s Cabinet Lead for Communities, said: “The Havant Community Lottery is a win-win for our local residents and our community groups.

“There are some great prizes on offer for the lucky winners but, more importantly, it is a great way to give money to the community. You can even specify which of the registered causes will receive most of your ticket price.

“The lottery is proving to be a real success and it is very satisfying to be able to pass another £5,500 direct to the community.

“If you are involved in a local club or charity don’t miss out on the chance to get much needed funds – make sure you register with the lottery through our website.”

The Havant Community Lottery draw takes place weekly, offering cash prizes of up to £25,000, visit the website for more information www.havantlottery.co.uk
