Cabinet changes announced at Havant Borough Council

A new look Cabinet has been appointed at Havant Borough Council, following the recent elections. 

Councillor Neil Bowdell and Councillor Liz Fairhurst have been appointed to Cabinet roles, meanwhile Councillor Andrew Briggs and Councillor Julie Richardson have been given roles as Assistant Portfolio Holders.

Changes to the portfolios have been made to align responsibilities with the council's key priorities, following the appointment of a new senior management team.

The cabinet is made up of six councillors from the majority Conservative group on the council. They are responsible for taking all decisions classed by the law as 'executive' decisions.

Each member is known as a Cabinet lead and has a portfolio of responsibilities.  

Three assistant cabinet leads have also been introduced as:

Councillor Alex Rennie, Leader of Havant Borough Council, said; “I am pleased to welcome Councillors Bowdell and Fairhurst, Briggs and Richardson to the cabinet.  I know they are dedicated in working to achieve our key priorities of Wellbeing, Pride in Place and Growth for the borough.

“As a Cabinet we have some very talented people with a wide range of professional experience who will bring a lot to the strategic direction to the council. Whilst I’m looking forward to fresh energy from our new team, I want to thank the hard work and dedication of former Cabinet members Clare Satchwell, Tim Pike, and Tony Denton who have all been fantastic public servants.”
