A newly refurbished play area is now open at Elizabeth Road, Waterlooville, PO7 5TZ.
The play area has been re-designed to better suit the needs of the local community following a public consultation.
The upgraded site now features a wide range of new play equipment, including swings, a wheelchair-accessible roundabout and seesaw, a spinning bowl, a daisy springer, multiple sensory play panels, and a multi-user calisthenics unit. Two new picnic tables have also been installed, creating a welcoming space for families and residents to relax and enjoy.
The refurbishment has been made possible thanks to £88,900 funding secured from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) fund.
Councillor Antonia Harrison, Cabinet Lead for Communities, Active Wellbeing & Waterlooville Regeneration, said: "We want to create wheelchair-accessible play areas that are suitable for all ages and abilities, and encourage everyone to stay active.
“These works were carried out by Kompan Ltd, who have transformed the space into a modern, inclusive play area for local residents. The equipment is also eco-friendly and sustainable, as it was made using up to 95% recycled materials.”
