Businesses and not-for-profit groups to benefit from local networking event

Havant Borough Council in conjunction with Motiv8 is proudly showcasing the benefit to businesses of working with not-for-profit organisations at its "Demystifying Social Value" event, being held at the Amazon DPO1 site in New Lane, Havant. The event takes place on Tuesday 24 February, running from 1pm to 3pm.

In support of Portsmouth South Coast Business Week, the event will bring together local businesses and community organisations, providing not only the opportunity to network but also access a diverse range of content.

Highlights of the event include:

  • Keynote speaker Amy Hazlehurst from Social Value Portal formally launching the event.
  • An interview with Richard Cooper, Managing Director of ComServ on the business benefits of social value.
  • An open-floor questions and answers session with a wide range of panellists including Donna Jones (Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight) and representatives from Portsmouth City Council, Grainger Plc, Southern Co-Op and Comserv.
  • An interactive session for businesses to consider and reflect upon their social value commitments.
  • A networking opportunity for businesses to connect with a wealth of local community organisations like Music Fusion, Motiv8, Link Up Youth Hub, Small Dreams and more.

Councillor Phil Munday - the Leader of Havant Borough Council - will also be attending the event. He stated "The sheer scale of the forthcoming event shows the potential for businesses and the not-for-profit sector to come together and add real value to the borough. I would personally like to thank all those contributing to the event and the considerable expertise they bring to the event’s content. The day will no doubt be a success - the networking opportunities are clear and those attending will benefit in a multitude of ways."
