Link Up Local, Havant Borough Council’s community jobs board, is a free platform for businesses to help promote their live vacancies.

In partnership with Hireful, Link Up Local works with employers to promote live vacancies to the young people accessing the council’s Youth Hub service.

The Youth Hub worked with local business Comserv to showcase their Labourer vacancy role through Link Up Local. Bayley, a young person who accessed the Youth Hub, gained employment after applying for the Labourer role.

Comserv's Group Executive Manager, Richard Cooper, said: “Comserv strives to support the young people within the community that we serve. Our support includes around 20 work experience placements per year along with support to careers events across the area, both at schools and organised by Education Business Partnership South.

“We have also offered four supported intern placements of six months duration for young people with special educational needs and disabilities over the last two years, and have gone on to offer permanent employment. Alongside this, we offer apprenticeships with up to six apprentices per year.

“Working with Havant’s Link Up Local has enabled us to further support local young people, starting with Bayley, into our employment.”
