“Importantly, it also helps those furthest from the labour market – giving disadvantaged residents a route into skilled, secure work, and delivering lasting social value for the community.”

Councillor Gillian Harris, Cabinet Lead for Regeneration and Communities, said: “It is great that the UKSPF funding will give residents and local businesses the chance to access useful training to support them into green skills for the future.

"This will also help contribute to Havant Borough Council's net-zero goals. As a borough, we are serious about tackling climate change, and building the capacity of local businesses to provide these types of services for residents is vital."

Councillor Grainne Rason, Cabinet Lead for Climate Emergency, Environment & Water Quality, added: "These training opportunities will enable people to have the qualifications they need. It will create and secure jobs in Havant. It will help local people to have the skills they need, so residents will have lower energy bills, and ensure more residents live in warmer homes."
