Physical activities for all to enjoy with Get Up and Go!

Looking for a way to be more active but don't know where to start?

Havant Borough Council’s Get Up and Go project has been around for seven years and offers a variety of physical activity opportunities to suit the local community. Activities are developed with residents’ views in mind and are often at lower price points, giving more people the chance to explore and access a range of different sports and sessions.

Some of the activities on offer include the following:

Casual Badminton Wednesdays from 5pm – 6pm Havant Leisure Centre First session free, then £3.50 a week
Family Boxing Wednesdays from 4.30pm – 5:30pm Leigh Park A.B.C Adults £5, children FREE (age 8+ only)
Walking Football Fridays from 4.30pm – 5.30pm

Qigong for all Thursdays from 12pm – 1pm The Public Service Plaza, Havant First session FREE, then £7 a week
Qigong evening class Tuesdays from 7.15pm – 8.15pm St James Church Hall, Emsworth First session FREE, then £7 a week
Qigong for those with Parkinson’s Fridays from 1.30pm – 2.30pm Bedhampton Community Centre £2.50 a week
Mixed ability yoga Fridays from 10.30am – 11.30am Leigh Park Baptist Church First session FREE, then £7 for 6 week course

Councillor Gillian Harris, Cabinet Lead for Regeneration and Communities, said: "Playing a sport or attending an exercise class is a great way to improve your physical and mental health. Join a Get Up and Go session and ease into fitness at your own pace, in a fun and friendly environment."
