Functional fitness for over 50s

Havant’s Live Longer Better project has helped to fund a fun fitness class for over 50s on Hayling Island.

The first session will start on Monday 24 November at Hayling Island Community Centre from 12.30pm to 1.15pm.

These new classes will focus on balance, co-ordination, strength, and gentle cardio to help you stay active and confident in everyday movement. Featuring music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, each session will be guaranteed to lift your mood while you move.

Councillor Gillian Harris, Cabinet Lead for Regeneration and Communities, said: “Following on from a popular class at Havant Leisure Centre, and at the request of residents, we are glad to be able to bring the class to Hayling Island so more people over 50 can stay active and keep doing the things they love.

“All abilities are welcome – all you need is a willingness to move!”

Classes are only £6 a week (paid by cash or card at the session) and free parking is available on site.
