Havant Town Centre is feeling festive with more than 25 businesses taking part in the annual 'Christmas window display awards' to make their shop fronts merry and bright.

All entries were judged by the Leader of Havant Borough Council, Councillor Phil Munday, and local ward councillors, Councillor Gillian Harris and Councillor Daniel Berwick.

This year's winner was announced as Sherwood Florist in West Street, with the team being presented with a prize of £50 for their efforts.

Runners up were The Havant Tailor and Lee Fletcher Funeral Services, who both won £25.

Third place went to Button Up Baby, who won a £25 Parchment Makers voucher.

Five bottles of wine were also awarded to Forget Me Not Florists, Endless Gifts, Havant Carpet & Flooring, St Faith’s Charity Shop and Hampshire Endodontics.

The Leader of Havant Borough Council, Councillor Phil Munday, said: “This was a fun way to promote our town centre and local businesses during the holiday season. We hope Havant residents, shoppers and visitors enjoy seeing all of the very creative displays.”

Councillor Gillian Harris, Cabinet Lead for Regeneration & Communities, added: “It was wonderful and nice to see so many of our local small businesses get into the Christmas spirit.”
