The Horizon Leisure Centre in Havant played host yesterday evening to the latest Havant Business Partnership event, providing businesses with expert advice, youth employment opportunities and an excellent opportunity to benefit from local networking.

Co-ordinated by Havant Borough Council and Havant and South Downs College (HSDC), this long-standing partnership has proved an invaluable learning and networking tool over many years. Yesterday's event provided insight and knowledge on local economic development, business support and on developing skills for the workforce.

With presentations covering topics ranging from business space for start-up businesses to the council's Youth Employment Scheme, the event proved as popular with businesses as ever.

Councillor Alex Rennie - Leader of Havant Borough Council - said "Successful local businesses are the lifeblood of the borough, with deep reaching benefits for local residents though employment and more. I am delighted to see the Havant Business Partnership succeed and live up to its name; through considered and committed partnership, numerous local businesses have benefitted - and continue to benefit from - the knowledge sharing and networking opportunities provided through these events."

Aaron Butson, Assistant Principal for Business, Employment and Skills at HSDC said "HSDC is always delighted to support the Havant Business Partnership". We work within the business community through the various programmes we deliver. We believe it is important to spend time listening to what local business needs which enables us to better respond to these needs."
