Helping young people in the borough get into employment

The Link Up Youth Hub has hit its first major milestone in less than a year by successfully getting 100 young people into job starts.

Based in Front Lawn Community Hub, Somborne Drive, Havant, PO9 5AN the hub helps young residents from across the borough with their next step into employment, education or training.

Link Up Youth Hub offers targeted employment and training advice to people aged 16-24 to those living in Havant and surrounding areas in partnership with DWP and Havant Borough Council.

The hub offers practical support in preparing for interviews and securing the skills and qualifications young people need, by providing 1-2-1 support, advice and guidance on opportunities in employment, training and further education advice.

Councillor Alex Rennie, Leader of Havant Borough Council, said; “Congratulations to the Link Up Youth Hub on reaching this impressive milestone in less than a year.

“We're dedicated to do all we can to support the young people of this borough and I'm so pleased that we have been able to work with the DWP to support and play host to the Youth Hub.

“The Link Up Youth Hub works collaboratively with our partners to help with the aspirations of the boroughs young people and move them into a career whilst supporting them to remove the barriers that they face and enhancing the young workforce of the future."

The hub is open five days per week from 10am-4pm, no appointment is necessary, simply turn up and speak with one of the friendly advisors.
