Havant stands in solidarity with Ukraine

The Ukrainian flag is being flown outside of Plaza to show Havant’s support for the nation following its invasion by Russia.

Leader of Havant Borough Council, Councillor Alex Rennie, said; “Our thoughts and solidarity are with those in Ukraine currently experiencing great hardship and fear for their safety.  We join towns and cities across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world in condemning the unprovoked invasion and devastating attack of Ukraine by the Russian government, led by President Vladimir Putin.

“We have empathy with anyone who finds themselves caught up in this unprovoked and unnecessary conflict.

“We urge the international community to work together to find a diplomatic solution and restore peace".
