Celebrations are in order for the winner of the first annual Havant Honorary Citizen Award!
The Havant Honorary Citizen Award presentation, held on 21 March, recognises the dedication and efforts of individuals and community organisations in making the borough a better place.
Knox White, a founding member of the Heart of Hayling Boxing Academy, was presented with the award in recognition of his services to the young people of Havant Borough.
In his role as trustee and coach, Knox has brought enthusiasm, boxing expertise and a sporting ethos to the Academy, attending almost every session to coach boxers and monitor coaches. The Academy helps to not only train boxers but to teach respect, team membership, and a desire to learn.
Knox is also a diligent charity fundraiser, and although suffering from serious health issues, he always puts others before himself.
The Mayor of Havant Borough Council, Councillor Rosy Raines, said: "I was delighted to present Knox with the prestigious Havant Honorary Citizen Award to celebrate the amazing contribution he has made to the local community.
"Through his hard work and dedication, Knox has lifted the spirits of both the young and adults across the borough and helped them to stay active."
