Staff and Councillors at Havant Borough Council have donated more than 85 gifts to children and adults in the borough of Havant, through the Stop Domestic Abuse.

Stop Domestic Abuse provides support and services to adults and children affected by domestic abuse, living in Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton.

The Leader and Deputy Leader of Havant Borough Council, along with Matt Goodwin (all pictured), helped deliver the gifts to the outreach workers from Stop Domestic Abuse.

Councillor Alex Rennie, Leader of Havant Borough Council, said, "It's lovely to see the generosity of my fellow Councillors, our staff and residents in the borough, who have given to such a good cause."

Chris, Child and Young Person Outreach Worker at Stop Domestic Abuse, said, “I support children and young people aged four to 17 who have been affected by domestic abuse.

"A lot of our families find Christmas difficult, as they may not have much money during this time. Were it not for the presents being donated, some of the families would have to go without, so they really will make a huge difference.”

Through supporting Stop Domestic Abuse, Havant Borough Council hopes to make a difference to people in need in the community and bring a smile to their faces on Christmas day.
