A message from the Leader of Havant Borough Council, Councillor Alex Rennie, for this festive season:

“I want to wish the residents of the whole Borough of Havant a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I know many of you will be spending time with your friends and family this Christmas, and I really do hope you enjoy yourselves.

This year’s been a really busy year for us at Havant Borough Council, and we’ve got some really big achievements. We won our Gold Award for the Armed Forces Scheme, which is a massive success and shows our commitment to our Armed Forces community.

We’ve won other awards for our work around animal protection - such as the RSPCA Silver PawPrints Award for our commitment to our stray animal housing procedures and kennelling.

We’re moving forward with our plans for regeneration in Waterlooville Town Centre, and we’ve also been awarded money to demolish Bulbeck Road car park in Havant Town Centre.

We’re also carrying out our ambitious plans to refurbish play parks across the whole borough, spending hundreds of thousands of pounds a year to make sure that they are in great shape.

There are lots more exciting things to come in 2024, and I really look forward to getting out, speaking to residents, and telling you about our plans as a council to serve you. In the meantime, please do have a very wonderful Christmas and New Year!”
