Walking for health is a scheme that aims to improve people’s health and well-being through regular walks.
The scheme has more than 10,000 volunteers nationwide and is hosted by the Ramblers and MacMillan Cancer.
Walking for Health has been running in both Havant Borough and East Hampshire for 12 years. There are currently 30 regular walks which anyone can attend for free.
Walks usually take about an hour with people able to choose their own pace, allowing walkers to build up their fitness gradually with the support and encouragement of others although 30 minute walks have recently been introduced for those who cannot manage longer.
