Support for businesses

There is a range of support available to local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic. Below is information on grants and other places that you can find support.

Local restrictions support grant (LRSG) - 16 February to 31 March

If your business has been affected by the local restrictions imposed by government, then you may be entitled to the local restrictions support grant.

Restart grants coming soon

We are awaiting details of how restart grants - one off cash grants of up to £18,000 for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care, and gym businesses in England - will be issued.

Coronavirus job retention scheme

The coronavirus job retention scheme has been extended until 30 September 2021.

Workers in any part of the UK can retain their job, even if their employer cannot afford to pay them, and be paid at least 80% of their salary up to £2,500 a month.

Grant levels will be changing from 1 July 2021.

The schemes currently announced by the government will not apply to every business and every employee.

If you do not qualify, you may wish to consider applying for Universal Credit.
