Havant Borough Council will host a poignant service to mark Armed Forces Day and raise the Armed Forces Flag on Monday 24 June.
Residents are welcome to join armed forces representatives, veterans, cadets and councillors by the flagpole outside the Plaza before 10.15am, when the service will begin.
During the service, the Mayor’s Chaplain will lead prayers and the Mayor’s Cadet will read a poem before the Armed Forces Flag is raised by the Mayor of Havant at 10.30am. The flag will then continue to be flown until Sunday 30 June.
The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Diana Patrick, said: "Our armed forces, past and present, have made an incredible contribution to all of our lives and I’m proud to be able to honour them on behalf of Havant Borough Council. I hope to see many residents join us for the service.”
