In the year that marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, Havant Borough Council invites you to remember the heroes of Havant.
Stories, told by the local community, together with photographs and personal belongings will be shared at the Public Service Plaza, Havant, PO9 2AX, on Monday 19 November between 1pm and 3pm.
The free event, open to all, will give an opportunity to reflect on the events and activities that took place in our borough, whilst discovering Havant’s heroes, who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Visitors will also get the opportunity to see the ‘There But Not There’ silhouettes that have been installed in community buildings across the borough.
Councillor Leah Turner, Cabinet Lead for Communities, Development and Housing, said: “Havant Borough Council has been pleased to take part in the Remembrance and nationwide commemorations of the end of WW1. Our event, Havant’s Heroes next Monday, is the final one where we can honour those residents who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and also those who survived but whose lives were changed by their experiences during WW1.”
