Havant Borough Council’s Leader, Councillor Michael Wilson has revealed his new cabinet following the stepping down of his deputy.
Councillor Tim Pike announced his decision to withdraw as a member of the council’s Cabinet and his role as Deputy Leader owing to personal and family reasons. He will continue his role as ward councillor in the St Faith’s area.
These recent changes to Cabinet introduces two new councillors into roles who will make decisions which are in line with the council's overall policies and budget, as well as a new deputy leader.
Each cabinet member is responsible for an area of the council's work, known as portfolios. The new Cabinet Leads are:
Cllr Michael Wilson: Leader of the Council, and Corporate Strategy
Cllr Gary Hughes: Deputy Leader and Cabinet Lead for Planning, Hayling Seafront Strategy, Commercial Services
Cllr Leah Turner: Cabinet Lead for Coastal Communities
Cllr Narinder Bains: Cabinet Lead for Neighbourhoods, Safety and Enforcement
Cllr Lulu Bowerman: Cabinet Lead for People and Organisation Development
Cllr Mark Inkster: Cabinet Lead for Finance
Cllr Alex Rennie: Cabinet Lead for Communications

I am indebted to him for his support as Deputy Leader during the last two years, particularly in delivering a robust budget and driving forward the regeneration strategy."
Councillor Tim Pike added: “It has been a great privilege to serve on Cabinet for the past three years. I shall continue to work tirelessly for all the residents of my ward."
