Staff and councillors from Havant Borough Council donated 70 presents to children supported by Southern Domestic Abuse Service (SDAS).
At the start of December Havant Borough Council launched its fourth annual present drive. A Christmas tree was decorated with labels which described the age and gender of a child. Once a label was taken an appropriate present was bought based on the description and placed underneath the tree.
Presents of all shapes and sizes were collected by Havant Borough Council’s operational partners, Norse, on Tuesday morning and delivered to SDAS, ensuring they make it to the children in time for Christmas.
The Southern Domestic Abuse Service provides services to people who have experiencing domestic abuse in their relationships.
Councillor Tony Briggs, Acting Leader of Havant Borough Council, said: “Havant Borough Council staff and councillors have passionately supported SDAS for the past four years.
“SDAS does valuable work in the borough, helping those most vulnerable across the area. It is good that we can once again aid them through the present drive initiative.”
