Havant Borough Council has awarded prizes to two lucky residents in the Havant Borough Community Lottery winter prize draw.
The winning tickets were bought by Mr B who supports the Leigh Park Bowls Club and Mr C, supporting the local Breastfeeding Network.
Mr B, who won the main prize of a stay in the Village Hotel Portsmouth, said: “I am incredibly happy to have won this prize, my wife and I are really looking forward to getting away and relaxing at the hotel for the night. We have only just signed up to the lottery and are keen to continue to support local community projects such as Leigh Park Bowls Club.”
The winner of the second prize, Mr C added: “I am delighted to have won four tickets to the children’s show ‘Otto and the Robin’ at the Spring Arts Centre. I subscribe to the Havant Lottery to support the local Breastfeeding Network.”
Launched by Havant Borough Council in April 2018, the lottery has sold more than 105,400 tickets raising £63,000 for the 84 local good causes signed up in the borough.
Councillor Tim Pike, Cabinet Lead for Planning, Regeneration and Communities, said: “We have had many residents and good causes get involved by signing up or purchasing tickets. The Havant Borough Community Lottery gives residents the chance to support local community groups while also having the chance to win prizes for themselves."
"The lottery continues to grow, and we hope to keep raising more funds for local groups to deliver the great services and projects they provide to residents in the borough.”
