Calling all concessionaires

The opportunity to tender for catering concessions is now available and Havant Borough Council is inviting bids for the licences.

Seven sites have become available in popular locations across the borough for six months to sell food, beverages, and ice creams through catering concessions. The licences will commence on 1 April 2023.

The car park licences allow for the sale of non-alcoholic beverages, hot and cold snacks, using the licensee’s own mobile vehicle with valid tax and MOT documentation. Licensees will be authorised to trade from their permitted site, seven days a week - should they choose to.

The sites where concessions are available include:

Hayling Island Sites:

  • Langstone Bridge Car Park at Hayling Billy Line
  • The Gun Site Car Park at Sinah Common
  • The Nab Car Park

Recreation Ground Sites:

  • Hampshire Farm Meadows Car Park, Emsworth
  • Jubilee Park at Waterlooville Recreation Ground, Milton Road, Cowplain
  • Purbrook Heath Recreation Ground Car Park Purbrook
  • Broadmarsh Coastal Park Car Park

Councillor Tim Pike, Cabinet Lead for Levelling-Up, said: "By extending our offer of concessional licences in the borough will provide a range of catering that will enhance and improve the quality of facilities offered to our residents, visitors and tourists."

"It is an ideal opportunity for any business, large or small to venture into."

Bids must be received by 12 noon on Friday 10 March 2023, and further details can be found at www.havant.gov.uk/concessions.

Evidence of food hygiene levels, relevant insurances and adherence to council requirements will be requested and verified by Havant Borough Council in advance of any licence being issued.
