Entrepreneurs and people with a business idea can sign up now for a free course to help build and evolve their business with the Rebel Business School, supported by Havant Borough Council (HBC).
The free, five-day online course will run via Zoom from Monday 18 October to Friday 22 October 2021 and is broken down into two sessions per day (10am–12.30pm and 1.30pm–3pm).
Whether you are at the beginning of your start-up journey, or you are an established business, the course will show you a new way of thinking, give you practical ways to get your idea off the ground and show you how to sustain and thrive as a business.
The course is being funded by HBC, along with East Hampshire District Council, New Forest District Council and Waverley Borough Council and delivered through a Hampshire-based enterprise called The Rebel Business School.
Councillor Tim Pike, Cabinet Lead for Finance, Regeneration and Estates at HBC, said:
“As a business owner myself, I recommend anyone with a business idea or with a business that needs a bit of a boost to sign up to the course.
“The results from the last course, in December 2020, speak for themselves: 86 people from Havant borough and East Hampshire district attended; 43% of attendees started trading by the end of the course; and 25% of businesses had made their first sale.
“The course provides key information on sales and marketing, tax, VAT and the law which are all areas that an independent business owner needs to know to have the best chance of success.”
