Businesses from across the borough have gathered together in a partnership that will assist employment in the future.

Brought together by Havant Borough Council and Havant and South Downs College, more than 20 businesses met to hear from The Solent Local Enterprise partnership on what support they have received, what they would change and what they would like to see in the future.

Hosted by one of the boroughs largest employer’s, SSE, a range of large and small companies attended to hear from key speakers, as well as take part in workshops.

The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) promoted their recently launched Solent Prosperity Fund, which provides funding opportunities for Start-ups, small and medium sized businesses and larger projects.

Employment issues and opportunities faced by employers and employees was presented by Havant and South Downs College.  Havant Borough Council spoke about the need for businesses and public services to work together to make strong bids to government for new infrastructure.  New Infrastructure is essential to support our economy and the regeneration of our towns. All the partners have supported the Transforming Cities Bid being led by Portsmouth City and Hampshire County councils. Transforming Cities funding will bring major investment in our local transport network over the next five years.

The aim of the Havant Business Partnership, who meet three times a year, is to bring together the borough’s employers to discuss issues affecting them, new developments within the borough and the new opportunities that could be available to them.
