Autumn events to get you moving

Havant Borough Council’s Get up and Go has lots of activities to get you moving throughout the autumn season.

Aimed at residents aged 55 and above, these activities are a chance to have fun, socialise and try something new.

Upcoming autumn events are as follows:


Heritage walks – starting Thursday 5 September

Take a step back in time with the Havant Heritage Walks.

Organised by Havant Borough Council and The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre, these guided walks are a unique opportunity to explore your local history.

Walks are taking place in Havant, Hayling Island and Emsworth. Each walk is £5 and includes an information leaflet to take home and peruse at your leisure.

Groove and move – starting Tuesday 10 September

Get in the groove with seated exercise classes.

These will get you moving to well-known dance tunes and are great for improving your overall mobility and fitness.

Starting on Tuesday 10 September, weekly sessions are being held in Havant from 12.30pm – 1.30pm. Your first session is completely free and each thereafter is just £4.

Strictly Havant – starting Tuesday 24 September

Dust off your dancing shoes and learn how to foxtrot or salsa.

Starting Tuesday 24 September, 10 weeks of classes will teach you the basics of ballroom or Latin American dancing.

Classes are being held at The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre and are a chance to enjoy expert tuition and try out dance moves with like-minded people.

Stretch yourself – starting Thursday 26 September

Improve your balance, relieve stress and meet new people by signing up to pilates.

Starting on Thursday 26 September, weekly sessions are being held on Hayling Island, with your first session completely free and each thereafter just £5.

All equipment is provided, so you just need to bring yourself and a drink. Free parking is available on site.
