Hayling Island seafront is a Blue Flag beach, meaning it is recognised by Keep Britain Tidy as a clean and safe stretch of coastline which offers excellent visitor facilities.
Each year, the beach must comply with a strict criteria to be given this award - a full list of criteria can be found on the Seaside Awards website.
The Blue Flag is flown during peak season and can be seen at three sites along the seafront:
- At the entrance to the Blue Flag beach, between Beachlands office and Funlands amusement arcade
- At the central reservation near to 'Inn on the Beach' restaurant
- Near the Hayling Island Golf Club
The flag is flown daily between 10am and 5pm when beach patrols and other facilities are available.
