We are currently working as hard as we can to keep your waste and recycling collections running as scheduled.
In the event of staff shortages we will be prioritising domestic waste (black lidded bin) collections.
We will endeavour to collect your recycling (green lidded bin) and garden waste (brown lidded bin) on your regular day, but this is likely to become increasingly difficult.
Missed bin collections
Our teams are working extremely hard to ensure we empty your bin - but please bear with us as we are working in a difficult situation.
We are aware of areas (i.e. streets) where bins have not been collected. If it looks like your street has been missed, please don't report it as we will be doing everything we can to get back to it. Due to the current pressures on all our services - this may not be until your next collection date.
We are already struggling to field increased calls at the moment and will already know there is an issue and be working to resolve it.
However, if your bin hasn't been emptied but those around you have (i.e. it looks like it's just your bin or a couple of bins that have been missed) then please fill out our contact us form.
What to do with your bin
Please put your bins out as normal on your scheduled collection day. Please leave your bin out all day as the crews may be running later than usual.
If your bin is not collected please leave it out, where it will not cause an obstruction, and our teams will collect as soon as they can. This may not be until your next scheduled collection day.
We will collect excess recycling which can be left in clear plastic sacks or a cardboard box next to your bin. If your rubbish collection is missed, we will collect any extra rubbish which can also be left in sacks next to your bin.
For people suffering with symptoms associated with coronavirus (COVID-19) or self-isolating at home, please follow Public Health England guidelines regarding the disposal of waste.
This includes sealing personal waste such as tissues and disposable cleaning cloths in smaller plastic bags and storing them for 72 hours before double bagging your waste and placing it in your black lidded wheeled bin.
Garden waste service
We will not be accepting any new customers to our garden waste service until further notice.
This decision will allow us to redeploy more staff and resources to our essential services when required.
Existing customers will still have their garden waste collected as usual, although there may be delays during this difficult time.
We hope to reopen the service to new customers once we get back to business as usual.
Bulky waste collection
New bulky waste bookings have been suspended until further notice. Norse South East will complete existing requests provided that the waste is left outside your property for the crew to collect.
