In order to allow pedestrians to maintain social distancing safely without needing to step into traffic, we have made some temporary changes to road layouts in areas of the borough.

If you would like to comment on the changes and how they affect your experience as a pedestrian, cyclist, driver or business, please email email@example.com.
Details of the changes are below.
High Street - barriers have been installed in the carriageway on the south side from West Street to St Peters Square to add width to the footway.
High Street - the lay-by outside The Crown and Costa has been closed to maintain two-way traffic flow. From a review undertaken on 23 June, the barrier line has been adjusted and shortly a disabled parking space and a loading bay in the western end of that layby will be created.
St Peters Square - closed to vehicles on northbound outside the church with two-way traffic on southbound side. Five parking bays have been suspended and barriers erected to allow social distancing on east side. Two disabled bays have been marked south of the suspension area to replace those lost under the closure of the western side of the Square. Following a review on 23 June, a small pull-in area has been created outside Treagust’s to assist loading.
Businesses have been asked to remove on-street displays, A boards etc. to maximise the width of the path available for queuing and social distancing.
North Street - on-street parking has been suspended in two areas to the north of the mini roundabout on the east side towards the railway station to increase footway width.
South Street from East Street to Twittens Way - on-street parking on the east side of the road has been suspended and barriers erected to allow social distancing on east side.
Market Parade - lay-bys have been closed on the inner side. Length 30m (southern lay-by outside ReVitalise etc.), and 19m (northern lay-by, outside Havant Fish Bar etc.).
London Road - we have closed the layby on south-east side of road from Cubitt & West north to the end of the layby but left the access between C&W and Waterlooville Beds open to allow for social distancing.
