Bin collections over Christmas and New Year (2024-25)

Over the Christmas and New Year period 2024-25, rubbish and recycling bin collections will change around the bank holidays.

All collections from Monday 13 January 2025 will return to their usual collection day. 

Please remember to put your bins out by 7am on your scheduled collection day. 

In the unlikely event our crews miss the collection of your bin (on your revised day) you will have until 4pm the next working day to report it. Report a missed bin collection online, by calling 023 9244 6019 or emailing customerservices@havant.gov.uk

Additional recycling is collected all year – not just at Christmas.  Please ensure you recycle the correct items. Recycling that does not fit into your wheelie bin should be placed in a clear sack or a cardboard box next to your bin. Please ensure excess recycling is clean and dry.

In the event of extreme weather conditions please place your bin out for collection and we will collect it as soon as possible.   

Clinical Waste

Please note, clinical collections will return to their usual collection days from Monday 6 January 2025. 

Garden Waste

Please be advised the garden waste service will be suspended between Monday 23 December – Friday 3 January 2025.

Real Christmas trees can be placed into your brown-lidded garden waste bin if the tree is cut into pieces, no larger than 7.5cm in diameter, and 60cm in length.

Glass Banks

If a glass bank is full due to seasonal demand, please do not leave glass by the bank. Full list of glass bank sites across the borough.   

Bulky Waste

The bulky waste collection service is suspended between Monday 23 December – Friday 3 January 2025.

Household Waste and Recycling Centres

These sites will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.
