Pay by direct debit
This is the easiest, most convenient and cheapest way of paying, for both the customer and the council. When the direct debit is set up your instalment payment will automatically be debited from your bank account.
If the amounts to be paid or payment dates change you will be notified at least 10 working days in advance. If you wish to set up a direct debit, please register for a portal account and complete the online direct debit form.
On your online account you can also opt to receive your Council Tax bills electronically.
You can pay your Council Tax online using our payments system which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Please select the "Council Tax" option from the list of payments available and have your debit or credit card to hand.
You can call dial-and-pay 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Please call 0845 241 0600 and follow the guidance. You will need your reference number and your debit card (this option is debit card only).
You may pay any amount due to the council using your own bank's online or telephone banking service. You will need to quote the account reference as part of the transaction, otherwise your payment will not be registered correctly.

Payments by debit or credit card may be made at the Civic Offices in person or over the telephone.
Pay by post
Postal remittances must be addressed to: Havant Borough Council, Remittances, PO Box 209, Havant, Hants, PO9 9BS.
All cheques should be payable to Havant Borough Council and crossed. Please write the account number shown on your account on the back of your cheque. Any cash should be sent by registered post.
