The future of Hayling seafront
The council is looking at the future role of Hayling seafront for visitors, residents and businesses.
We are working with Hemingway Design to progress a feasibility analysis for the regeneration of four sites at Creek Road, Eastoke Corner, Beachlands and West Beach. Thank you to those of you who recently responded to the online survey. Your comments have been passed to the relevant officers and Hemingway Design, and will be considered in the study going forwards.

History of the project
There have been various council and developer ideas to improve and regenerate the beautiful Hayling Island seafront. There has been limited progress and many of these ideas have largely remained on the drawing board.

Hayling Seafront remains a popular destination for all ages to enjoy water sports, its natural environment and clean and safe beaches.
As part of the council’s regeneration objectives, Hayling Seafront is a specific focus in order to sustain it as a destination for all.
This will be coordinated with the potential developments around the island that may emerge in the Local Plan.
The critical aspect of the Local Plan work is the need to plan for supporting infrastructure, particularly in terms of transport.
