The winners of the Mayor of Havant’s Christmas card competition have been announced as the search for the best design in the borough comes to an end.
Out of the hundreds of school children that entered, Henri Hoare from Hart Plain Junior School has been chosen as the winner, with Sam Cooper from The Waterloo School and Daniel Parham of Bosmere Junior School as the runners-up.
All the winners had the opportunity to enjoy refreshments in the Mayor’s Parlour to receive special recognition for their work. By finishing first place, Henri received a £50 prize for his school and all three of the designs will now be printed as the mayor’s official Christmas cards.
The competition invited school children within Havant borough from school years four, five and six to submit card designs with the theme of ‘The Magic of Christmas’.
The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Peter Wade, said: “It has been very hard to choose the winners with so many wonderful and creative designs. I would like to thank all the children and schools that entered this year’s competition."
