With spring in the air gardens are beginning to blossom and grow, so why not let Havant Borough Council help you.
Residents can subscribe to the fortnightly garden waste collection service and all of their unwanted weeds, grass cuttings and prunings will be collected direct from their home, saving them a trip to the tip.
For as little as £43 a year – that’s just £1.65 for each collection – the garden waste service, provided by Norse South East on behalf of Havant Borough Council, provides fortnightly collections from a wheeled bin that can easily manoeuvre around your garden.
More than nine thousand households in the borough have already taken advantage of this low-cost service – with more than six hundred new customers signing up this year.
Carl Mathias, Project Manager for Havant Borough Council said “It’s great that our garden waste collection service continues to be popular with our residents.
“Now in its seventh year, the service has proven valuable to many of our busy residents who don’t have the time, space or a vehicle to take their garden waste to one of the Household Waste Recycling Centres. For as little as 83 pence a week we offer a simpler, more convenient and eco-friendly way of disposing this waste.”
It’s easy to join, simply visit www.havant.gov.uk/garden-waste alternatively you can sign up over the telephone, by post or in person, when visiting the Plaza in Havant or Beachland’s Office, Hayling Island.
For those residents who have chosen not to renew their annual collection licence, it’s not too late to change your mind and re-join.
