Havant Borough Council will be replenishing the beach frontage at Eastoke, Hayling Island, with shingle to help protect the area from coastal flooding and erosion.
The works are part of the ongoing South Hayling Beach Management Plan and will begin during week commencing Monday 24th September 2018. It is anticipated that works will take four weeks to complete.
Shingle will be removed from Gunner Point and the Coastguard Revetment where it has built up over the summer and transported along Hayling seafront to restore depleted groyne bays prior to the winter period.
Trucks will be limited to a maximum of 10mph and their route will be marked with traffic cones and signs.
The beach will remain open to the public throughout the duration of the works with Havant Borough Council and contractor staff onsite to ensure safety.
Work may take place between 6am to 10pm, Monday to Friday. Anyone visiting the seafront during this time is reminded to remain vigilant.
