Bright future for games area

Friday, 12 April, 2019

An outdoor sports facility in Waterlooville is the first of its type in the UK to boast a new eco-lighting system.

Recent refurbishments of the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at Stakes Lodge, Waterlooville, include the installation of high tech solar powered lighting, triggered by motion sensors when players enter the court area.

The facility has also been completely resurfaced and markings are now in place for five-a-side football and basketball.

The work has been fully funded by S106 developer contributions.

To celebrate the completed refurbishment, there will be an opening event on Tuesday 16 April from 5.30pm at Stakes Lodge on Springwood Avenue, Waterlooville.

A ribbon cutting will take place at 5.30pm, followed by a free basketball taster session for children aged over eight years old run by Havant Basketball Club’s qualified coaches. There’s no need to book, just come along and join in.
