**Unfortunately due to poor weather conditions forecast for Saturday 21 October, this weekend's official opening has been cancelled.

The park will still be open to use and we hope to get another date in the diary for the official opening soon.**

The refurbishment of a popular children’s play area is now complete, in time for the October half term, thanks to Havant Borough Council.

The new play equipment has been installed following a consultation with local people to ensure the refurbishment became more suitable for children of all ages, from tots to teens.

The naturalistic equipment, made from Robinia, a hard-wearing hardwood, includes educational and interactive play that encompasses lots of low-level sensory play, a spinning well, swings, numerous climbing units, information boards, and a play hut.

Feedback from the consultation also requested that seating areas and safety surfacing should also be incorporated from the £110,000 investment from the CIL fund (Community Infrastructure Levy - neighbourhood portion).

Councillor Gwen Robinson, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Lead for Communities and Housing, said: ”This is another example of the work we’re doing to make the borough’s play areas the best for our residents, the transformation is incredible.

“The refurbishment of this popular playground marks another stage of our ambitious investment program, giving local families a fun, safe, and interactive space to enjoy,”

The borough is home to more than 40 dedicated play areas, as well as football pitches, tennis courts, skate parks and multi-use games areas and more.  Find out more information on what the borough's outside spaces have to offer.
